KazTransGas repaid $500 million on the loan ahead of schedule to China Development Bank.

JSC “KazTransGas” early repaid a Bank loan in the amount of $ 500 million and reduced the loan term by 2 years.

A subsidiary of JSC KazTransGas LLP “Asian gas Pipeline” in order to implement the project of construction of the main gas pipeline “Kazakhstan-China” in 2008 and 2012 attracted syndicated Bank loans totaling $ 10.2 billion under 100% corporate guarantee of the Chinese National Oil and Gas Corporation.

To date, the amount of debt on two loans is 5.2 billion dollars. Over the entire period, KazTransGas JSC successfully conducted a number of transactions aimed at reducing the debt burden, as a result of which it was possible to reduce debt obligations on these loans by 5 billion dollars, including 1 billion 450 million dollars ahead of schedule.

On 20 December 2018, JSC “KazTransGas” additionally repaid $ 800 million, of which $ 500 million – ahead of schedule. Early repayment resulted in savings on loans worth more than $ 600 million, and the term of loans was reduced by 2 years.

Over the entire period, more than 250 billion cubic meters of Central Asian gas were transported through the Kazakhstan-China main gas pipeline and more than 11 billion dollars were received.

The Kazakhstan-China main gas pipeline is the largest international gas transportation project of the domestic gas industry. The length of each of the threads “A”, “B” and “C” is 1310 kilometers. Since the beginning of the pipeline operation in 2008, 16 industrial, high-tech facilities have been put into operation, including 13 compressor stations.

At the moment, more than 250 billion cubic meters of gas have been transported through the pipeline. KazTransGas JSC is the national operator of Kazakhstan in the field of gas and gas supply.
