The head of QazaqGaz started his first working trip with a visit to production facilities in the West Kazakhstan region
Sanzhar Zharkeshov, appointed at the end of February of this year as the Chairman of the Board of JSC NC QazaqGaz, began acquaintance with the company’s production facilities in the regions. The first trip was to the West Kazakhstan region, where the large Karachaganak gas condensate field is located.
The main purpose of the working visit is to find out what technical condition the gas transmission system and main gas pipelines are in. Another equally important task is to assess the prospects for increasing the resource base, this is a direct order from the President of Kazakhstan.
It is no coincidence that the visit began in the west of the country; it is here that the main reserves of natural gas are concentrated. A large amount of natural gas is extracted at Karachaganak, therefore, the largest gas transportation infrastructure facilities operate in the region.
The topic of increasing the volume of commercial gas for the domestic market was central and in a conversation with the management of the company Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B.V. The parties also discussed cooperation in the field of processing additional volumes of associated gas.
The same issues were raised at the meeting of Sanzhar Zharkeshov with the management of Zhaikmunai LLP, which is developing the Chinarevskoye oil and gas condensate field.
From the production facilities operating in the region, the head of the gas national company visited the compressor station “Uralsk” and AGRS-1 “Uralsk” of JSC “Intergas Central Asia”. CS Uralsk with 11 gas pumping units transports natural gas in the amount of more than 9 billion m3 of gas per year.
AGRS-1 provides stable gas supply to the population and enterprises of the city of Uralsk and nearby settlements.
Sanzhar Zharkeshov was presented with a work plan for the reconstruction and modernization of facilities and equipment of the main gas transmission system. Issues related to production, logistics and social and labor relations were discussed with the station employees.
The issues of developing the transit potential of the region and increasing the resource base of commercial gas were discussed at a meeting with the Akim of the region Gali Iskaliev.
Another stop point for Sanzhar Zharkeshov was the Ural Gas Turbine Station, to which QazaqGaz supplies fuel in the amount of 170 million m3 per year. The station generates a fifth of the electricity needed by the region and provides heat to new residential neighborhoods of the city of Uralsk.
The trip of the head of “QazaqGaz” ended with a visit to the “Engineering and Technical Center” of JSC “Intergaz Central Asia”. The center, which employs specialized specialists, is equipped with modern equipment and can perform a wide range of diagnostic services for the gas industry.
