As Bakytzhan Sagintayev noted, Kazakhstan will be able to produce gas in its bowels for another 83 years. At the same time, he noted that gas production in the country, which has reached 43.2 billion cubic meters and has large-scale prospects for development, taking into account geological resources, is growing dynamically. According to the Deputy Prime Minister, the main efforts of the Government in this area are aimed at the development of gas infrastructure and diversification of gas supplies to the southern regions. In this regard, the concept of development of the gas industry until 2030 is being implemented. A General scheme of gasification of the country has been developed, according to which the level of gasification of the population will reach 56% by 2030, from the current 42%, and the number of gasified settlements will increase from 1,150 to 1,600. At the same time, the volume of gas consumed will increase from 12.4 billion cubic meters in 2014 to 18 billion in 2030.
According to the Minister of energy Vladimir Shkolnik, half of the vehicles of Astana and Almaty will be transferred to gas by 2030. “In 2030, gas production is expected in the amount of 60 billion cubic meters, production of commercial gas – 21 billion, gas consumption – 18 billion from the current 12. It is also planned to reduce the export of Kazakhstan’s gas, its reorientation to the domestic market, bringing the level of gas use as a motor fuel in Almaty and Astana to 50%, in regional centers – up to 30%,” the Minister of energy said.
Mazhilisman, head of the special temporary Commission for the preparation of parliamentary hearings Shavkat Utemisov spoke about the current issues facing the oil and gas sector of the country and the next bills in this area, which will be discussed in Parliament in the near future. Following the hearings, appropriate recommendations were adopted for further work on legislative acts relating to the oil and gas sector of the economy of Kazakhstan.
