The national operator of JSC “KazTransGas”, within the framework of the investment project “Gasification of settlements and modernization of gas distribution networks of the Aktyubinsk region”, commissioned an automatic gas distribution station (AGRS) in Aktobe with the capacity of 300 thousand cubic meters of gas per hour. To date, AGRS 300 is the most powerful in Kazakhstan.

The order of the Head of State N.Nazarbayev to make Aktobe a modern city with a million residents requires several strategic tasks. One of them is to provide a growing population, existing municipal and industrial facilities of the city with natural gas.

The national operator of JSC “KazTransGas”, fulfilling the President’s instruction, implemented this project in order to increase the capacity and reduce the load on the existing AGRS in the city. Within the framework of the construction of this facility, about 32 km of new gas pipelines were laid, 2 gas control points were built.

Built by JSC “KazTransGas” AGRS with a capacity of 300 thousand cubic meters of gas per hour is able to provide an uninterrupted supply of gas, not only to the regional center, but also to suburban and more remote settlements. The station is designed to supply natural gas not only to already existing facilities; its capacity is enough for the future.

At the moment, such large consumers as Aktyubinsk Rail-Railing Plant, Industrial Zone, city telephone station, Aktyubinsk Ferroalloy Plant, Kazkhrom, TPP, numerous social and communal facilities will be provided with uninterrupted and accident-free gas supply. In addition, the station will provide gas to the suburban settlements of Kobdin, Martuk, Alginsky and Kargalinsky districts.

The implementation of the breakthrough project for the construction of AGRS-300 and the commissioning of the station contributed to the creation of the most favorable conditions for the development of the Aktyubinsk region. Conducted gasification significantly increased investment attractiveness, positively affects the growth of socio-economic indicators of the region, having fulfilled the main task – to improve the quality of life of the population.

According to the schedule for the implementation of investment projects, the national operator in the field of gas and gas supply, KazTransGas JSC, expects to cover by natural gas 96% of the population of the Aktyubinsk region by 2030. In total, 287 km of gas pipelines will be laid across the region.

For reference: Existing GDS-1, GDS-3 are located in the south-western part of Aktobe between the industrial zone and the residential sector, and the supplying to them main gas pipeline-branch passes between residential areas. Due to the development of the city and active housing construction, the stations were surrounded by a residential sector. Considering this, as well as the long service life of GRS-1, built in the 60s of the last century, the akimat of the region decided to build a new modern AGRS-300 outside the city in the Novo-Aldzhansky elevator area. The location is not accidental, because in this place there is a jumper junction between the main gas pipelines “Zhanazhol-Aktobe” and “Bukhara-Ural”. This allows the supply of natural gas from two independent sources to ensure the uninterrupted operation of the station in the event of a malfunction on any of the main gas pipelines. In the near future, after reconnection of all existing consumers, GRS-1 and GRS-3 will be decommissioned.

JSC “KazTransGas” is the national operator of Kazakhstan in the field of gas and gas supply. The group of companies of JSC “KazTransGas” includes extracting, transporting and selling gas and products of its processing enterprises and organizations.
