The construction of gas infrastructure for the CHPP in Almaty is proceeding according to the plan
Deputy Chairman of the Board of JSC “NC “QazaqGaz” Meirbek Ikhsanov and General Director of JSC “Intergas Central Asia” Manas Tasybayev inspected the construction of gas pipeline infrastructure at Almaty CHPP-2 and CHPP-3.
Following the instructions of the Head of State to transfer Almaty CHPPs to gas, a subsidiary of QazaqGaz NC JSC, Intergas Central Asia JSC, began construction of two automatic gas distribution stations. The productivity of the AGDS will be 250 and 150 thousand m3/hour, respectively. In addition, the structure of the TIP-04 jumper between the main gas pipelines “Almaty-Bayserke-Talgar” and “Kazakhstan-China” with a capacity of 1,000 thousand m3/hour is underway.
“An additional source of natural gas supply will further support energy security and ensure reliable and uninterrupted gas transportation through the Almaty region. Including for the Almaty energy complex, considering the gasification of CHPP-2 and CHPP-3,” Meirbek Ikhsanov said.
According to the project documentation, the contractors have fully ordered the necessary equipment, which is expected to be delivered on time. Completion of the AGDS and the TIP-04 cofferdam construction is scheduled for the end of December 2023.
The implementation of the project is expected to improve the quality of life of people in Almaty by reducing air pollution in the city and its surroundings and covering the growing energy consumption.
It should be noted that the project “Modernization of Almaty CHPPs with minimization of environmental impact” is being implemented under the leadership of JSC “Samruk-Energy”. QazaqGaz, in turn, is engaged in the construction of gas infrastructure.
