An international youth cooperation conference was held in Beijing as part of the “One Belt- One Road” initiative
On July 13, 2022, within the framework of the strategic initiative “One Belt, One Road”, a youth forum under the slogan “Going forward to a new path, building our future together” was held in the International Conference Center of China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC). The forum was attended by Mr. Zhang Jin, Chairman of CNPC Youth Committee, Meng Xiangdong, General Director of Tapline company, members of the top management of Tapline company, as well as more than 500 top managers and representatives of the best young employees of China-Kazakhstan, China-Tadjik, China-Myanmar joint ventures via video conferencing.
This youth forum is a showpiece event held under the auspices of the All-China Youth Federation, held within the framework of the strategic initiative “One Belt, One Road”, in accordance with the experience sharing plan among the young employees and according to young employees development program “Building the Silk Road of Dreams”. The main organizer of the youth forum is CNPC, the co-organizer is Tapline. The purpose of organizing this youth forum is to enable young employees of foreign joint ventures to talk about their experience in joint pipeline projects, promote the exchange of experience and cultural integration of Chinese and foreign youth, further strengthen the understanding of the “Commonwealth of the regional situation of countries”, ensure cultural support to promote cooperation in the energy sector within the framework of “One Belt, One Road” initiative to a higher level and in a wider space.
The forum was held in the format of speeches in different languages. 10 best young employees from joint ventures spoke in Burmese, Russian, English and Chinese languages, telling the story of overcoming difficulties on the road to success, contributing to cultural integration and people-to-people connections from various countries, between Chinese and foreign youth.
Mrs. Chen Siqi, Deputy Director of Corporate Finance Department of Beineu-Shymkent GasPipeline LLP, who took participation in this event and shared ten years of experience in financing an international pipeline project, she told how Beineu-Shymkent Gas Pipeline LLP has been operating since its establishment, for more than ten years has become an exemplary company, a socially significant project in Kazakhstan and a real pearl of the Great Silk Road as part of “One Belt, One Road”0 initiative. Like other young employees, she will also work with great enthusiasm and make dreams come true, make efforts and contribute to the further development of the company.
A local employee, Pakizat Kairat, told that the joint project within the frame of “One Belt, One Road” initiative not only provides local residents with ample employment opportunities, a comfortable working environment and a good social package, but also promotes friendship between the peoples of China and Kazakhstan. The project is of great importance not only in Kazakhstan, but throughout the Central Asian region. Due to the project, a “golden bridge of friendship” was built between China and Kazakhstan.
Radjan, a young employee of Uzbekistan project, achieved his Chinese dream and became the pride of his family. He considers that “China-Uzbekistan gas pipeline” is not only a project, but also a bridge of friendship between the peoples of China and Uzbekistan. The “One Belt and One Road” initiative, his love for oil and the Chinese dream have become a youthful force linking China and Uzbekistan, and he has joined forces with colleagues to demonstrate China-Uzbek friendship.
Li Zhengqing, an employee of Tapline company, has been working in Myanmar for 10 years and has witnessed the rapid development of the local economy and society and the amazing changes that have taken place in the lives of the people of Myanmar. According to his opinion, mutually beneficial oil and gas projects, improvement of the local economy and people’s lives are the best propaganda of the “One Belt, One Road” initiative. This is the best reward for the hard work of CNPC employees, and it is also the best gift China brings to the world.
At the end of the forum, all participants of international youth forum together sang the song “Up Against the Current”, which was written especially for this youth forum by TapLine company, about the spirit of unity and strength of Chinese and foreign youth, persistent and strong, who are not afraid of life’s storms, and pursuing their dreams. According to the existing data, CNPC participates and runs more than 50 oil and gas investment projects in 19 countries and regions along the strategic initiative of “One Belt, One Road” route.
