"Zhanargan QazaqGaz": A new vision of the development of the National Company is presented
Nur-Sultan — JSC “NC “QazaqGaz” hosted a meeting of top management with employees of the group of companies from all over the country in the Town Hall format. The meeting was attended offline and online by about 500 people consisting of members of the Expert Council, the Council of Veterans, middle managers, as well as representatives of production branches and facilities of the gas transmission system from all regions of Kazakhstan, including engineering staff and ordinary employees. Sanzhar Zharkeshov, head of the National Company, presented a new vision of the company’s development and outlined key priorities.
According to Sanzhar Zharkeshov, the vision of “Zhanargan QazaqGaz” consists of 5 directions. The first is the execution of the instructions of the Head of State to conduct a full audit of the company and ensure transparency of its activities, as well as the implementation of major projects. In particular, the plans include the reconstruction of gas transmission systems in Mangistau and Atyrau regions, HPP-2, 3 in Almaty, the construction of the Kashagan gas processing plant, as well as combined-cycle gas installations in the Turkestan region.
“In addition, it is necessary to consolidate the efforts of all participants in the gas supply market and build a reputation as a reliable partner. Having the status of a national company, we are obliged to provide the population with uninterrupted gas supply. We also plan to increase the transparency of procurement and cost optimization through the development of local content in procurement, by localizing production in the country.”, – Sanzhar Zharkeshov noted in his speech.
The second direction includes the development of human capital. This is the renewal and improvement of personnel policy based on the principles of meritocracy, transparency and improvement of working conditions for production personnel.
The third direction includes the development of a new development strategy to address the unprecedented challenges facing the new national company. This work will require the consolidation of the efforts of all participants in the gas supply market, including multinational companies, subsoil users involved in the projects of the Kashagan, Tengiz, Karachaganak, Zhanazhol fields, etc.
The fourth direction is to ensure uninterrupted gas supply through proper operation of the GTS and protection of the domestic market.
The fifth direction is to increase the transparency of the Company’s purchases and optimize costs through the introduction of a new procurement model, including the development of local content in procurement and localization of production in the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as the development of proposals for demonopolization and optimization of assets of the group of companies and the exclusion of intermediary structures.
The Chairman of the Management Board presented the results of the work of the updated management of the company for two months. In particular, he noted that a comprehensive plan for the development of the country’s gas industry has been finalized and agreed with state authorities. A set of measures for socially fair pricing reform has been developed. Gas distribution networks have been put into operation in 22 settlements of the Turkestan region, where the population has been waiting for gas for the last 10 years. For the first time, the company has introduced the position of Head of HSE (Health, Safety&Environment), responsible for occupational health, environment and safety at work.
At the same time, intermediary schemes for more than 100 billion tenge (KZT) have been identified.
“In 60 days we have provided the domestic market with additional volumes of commercial gas. In particular, 600 million m3 of TCO export gas is directed to domestic needs. An additional 100 million m3 of gas from the Southern Aksai field will be sent to the domestic market. The Kashagan Gas Processing Plant construction project with a capacity of 1 billion m3/year has been transferred to QazaqGaz. In addition, uninterrupted gas supply is provided during the heating period, and production work takes place without incident. This is just the beginning, we have a lot of tasks ahead of us, including the development of a full-scale strategy “Zhanargan QazaqGaz”, – said the Chairman of the Board.
Sanzhar Zhakenov also noted that the wages of production personnel for the group of companies have been increased from 15% to 45%.
In addition, the updated management of JSC “NC “QazaqGaz” answered the questions of employees of the group of companies from all regions, including regarding remuneration, improvement of conditions and safety at work, staff training, etc.
In conclusion, an operational workshop session was held, according to the results of which the employees of the group of companies contributed to the formation of the future development strategy of QazaqGaz.
