Safety is the main thing in the work of the gas industry

The mobile application will now help gas workers gain knowledge on compliance with industrial safety and labor protection. Such a program was developed in the National Company KazTransGas JSC as part of the digitalization of business processes.

Now, in order to get the skills to work safely on gas pipelines, it will not be necessary to come from remote regions to the training center. Another plus of the mobile application, you can study at any time convenient for you. Such know-how was presented in Shymkent, where a meeting on industrial safety and labor protection was held.

The event was attended by chief engineers of the company’s production branches and specialists responsible for labor protection, the environment and ensuring social and labor conditions.

The meeting was held on the basis of the training and course plant of the gas transportation company “Intergas Central Asia” and was distributed over several sessions. Moreover, the meeting consisted not only of theory, the participants practiced security skills in practice as well.

According to Bakhtiyar Izbasarov, First Deputy General Director of Intergas Central Asia JSC, obtaining practical skills is the main task of the training plant. “There is everything necessary for the training of our employees, and in all specialties. This is what we have to work with on the main gas pipelines, and the conditions are as close to real as possible,” Bakhtiyar Izbasarov said.

It has also developed its own system for evaluating the knowledge of employees. Moreover, the examination tests were previously passed by the heads of structural divisions themselves and showed a high level of training at the same time. The refrain of the whole meeting was that the protection and safety of the life and health of workers in production activities is an absolute priority. This is how modern companies should work today. Therefore, the procedure “Unified system of Occupational Safety and Health management” is used to assess working conditions in JSC NC “KazTransGas”. This is a whole range of measures, methods and tools aimed at the program-targeted formation of safe and healthy working conditions and their continuous improvement.

In addition, an industrial safety and labor protection council has been established at Intergas Central Asia, which sets requirements for the organization, joint actions with the employer, employees and the trade union.

Such purposeful work does not go unnoticed, all production branches of the gas transportation company are holders of a “Certificate of Trust” confirming successful work in the field of labor protection.

The topical topic of coronavirus infection was not ignored at the meeting. Since March last year, at the peak of the pandemic, all necessary security measures have been taken in all production branches of the company. The vaccination of employees was actively carried out, almost all the staff, 96.3% of the total number of employees, were vaccinated, except for those who have contraindications. This made it possible to ensure safe and uninterrupted transportation of gas to domestic consumers and fully preserve the volume of export supplies.
