PRESS RELEASE
Karaganda November 30, 2021
The national company KazTransGas JSC, on the day of the First President and on the eve of the 30th anniversary of Independence, connected the first consumers of Karaganda and Temirtau to the gas supply. The long-awaited blue fuel has become available to residents of this region thanks to the Saryarka main gas pipeline.
Construction of the city’s gas infrastructure began in 2019 with houses along Kazakhstanskaya, Hippodromnaya, Badina Streets and Bukhar-zhyrau Avenue. Speaking at the ceremony, Akim of Karaganda region Zhenis Kassymbek noted that gas will not only provide the city with heat, but also improve the environmental situation and help create additional conditions for economic growth.
“The first stage gas pipeline and the first start-up complex have already been launched, which made it possible to gasify 1,584 houses. Construction has been completed, documents have been signed and the facility has been transferred to the trust management of KazTransGas Aimak JSC,” the governor of the region said. According to him, it is planned to switch to ArcelorMittal Temirtau gas next year. This will allow reducing harmful emissions by 30% by 2025.
The launch of the 2nd launch complex made it possible to gasify 1209 of the 2377 planned houses in the Mikhailovka district. The 3rd launch complex will make it possible to gasify another 2057 houses in the city. The implementation of these projects is scheduled for 2021-2022.
Next year, it is planned to launch the gas pipeline of the 2nd stage and connect 2231 houses in the village of Novouzenka, the Medical Unit area and the reinforced concrete plant. In the future, it is planned to build three more complexes and connect 8690 houses to gas in the neighborhoods of Old Airport, Fedorovka, Kungei. The implementation of these projects is scheduled for 2022-2023.
Intra-city gas distribution networks were built at the expense of the state budget by local executive bodies. Currently, more than 64 km of gas pipelines have been laid in Karaganda. Thus, the plan for the current year is 100% fulfilled. A total of 129 km of gas pipelines have been built in the region out of the planned 1,530.
As the director of the Karaganda production branch of KazTransGas Aimak JSC Talgat Kyzylbayev noted, speaking at the solemn event, this is a very important event for the region. “Gasification always has a positive impact on the development of settlements, creates prospects for further growth of the industrial and social spheres. We hope that with the arrival of gas, housing construction will receive a new impetus, important infrastructure projects, road construction will be financed, and small and medium-sized businesses will receive support. Gas today is one of the most comfortable types of fuel, but at the same time we must not forget about safety for a second. It is necessary to observe all the rules of using gas in everyday life and then your house will always be warm and cozy,” Talgat Kyzylbayev said.
The Karaganda production branch of KazTransGas Aimak JSC was established in November 2019. Its tasks include the transportation of gas through distribution systems and gas supply to the final consumers of the region.
For the convenience of consumers, branches of KazTransGas Aimak JSC operate in three cities – in Zhezkazgan (Satpayev str., 10/1), in Temirtau (Mendeleev Str., 11) and in Karaganda itself (Ermekov str., 104/1).
Work with consumers of gas supply is based on the principle of one window – as in the PSC: there is an electronic queue, separately for individuals and legal entities. Here you can apply for connection to gas, consult and ask questions, as well as receive documents and technical conditions for connection or disconnection.
