The Prime Minister of Kazakhstan and Deputy Prime Ministers from Russia discussed cooperation in the fuel and energy sector
Deputy Prime Ministers of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak and Alexey Overchuk paid a working visit to Kazakhstan. They met with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin.
The parties discussed topical issues of cooperation in the fuel and energy sector, it concerned the field of subsoil use, oil and gas industries, electric power industry.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Roman Sklyar, Chairman of the Board of JSC “Samruk- Kazyna” Almasadam Satkaliyev, Minister of Energy Magzum Mirzagaliyev, Chairman of the Board of JSC “NC “KazMunayGas” Alik Aidarbayev, Chairman of the Board of JSC “KazTransGas” Kairat Sharipbayev and Chairman of the Board of JSC “NAC “Kazatomprom” Mazhit Sharipov.
During the meeting, much attention was paid to cooperation in the gas sector. The conversation was about the participation of Russian companies in the gasification of the northern and eastern regions of Kazakhstan, the transit of natural gas through the territory of our country.
Petrochemistry is becoming one of the priority areas of development in the energy relations of the two countries. According to Alexander Novak, the growth of gas chemical production and the corresponding growth of the LNG refueling infrastructure will positively affect the trade turnover of the two countries.
During the meeting, Alexander Novak also noted that Russian-Kazakh cooperation in the fuel and energy sector is based on the principles of partnership and is steadily developing in bilateral and multilateral formats.
At the end of the meeting, the parties confirmed their readiness for further constructive negotiations in all areas of strategic cooperation in both bilateral and multilateral formats.
