KAZTRANSGAS JSC BECAME A SUBSIDIARY COMPANY OF SAMRUK-KAZYNA

KazTransGas JSC became an independent portfolio company of Samruk-Kazyna NWF JSC.   Today the Government Decree has been adopted, as well as the Contract has been signed between Samruk-Kazyna and KazMunayGas on transfer of KazTransGas to the trust management of Samruk-Kazyna Fund.

“Thus, KazTransGas National Company will implement not only gas transportation, but becomes a full National Operator in the field of gas and gas supply”, – emphasized Akhmetzhan Yessimov.

We would like to remind that in November of the past year during the meeting of the Board of Governors of Samruk-Kazyna Fund, the Board’s Chairman, Mr. Nursultan Nazarbayev, set the task to remove KazTransGas from KazMunayGas structure to be directly subordinated to Samruk-Kazyna Fund.

In January of the current year during the extended meeting of the Government, the President, Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev, instructed to establish a National Operator for gas exploration, production and transportation.

KAzTransGas JSC operates the centralized infrastructure for transportation of commercial gas through the main gas pipelines and gas distribution networks, ensures an international transit and deals with gas sale at the internal and external markets, develops, finances, builds and operates the pipelines and gas storages.
