"KazTransGas" JSC has connected the West with the South.

Today the official ceremony of commissioning of the main gas pipeline (MG) “Beineu-Bozoy-Shymkent” (BBSH) at the site “Beineu-Bozoy”was held.

Construction of MG BBSH is part of the State program for accelerated industrial and innovative development. Thanks to this project, it became possible to provide the South of the Republic with stable domestic natural gas from western fields.

“The commissioning of the gas pipeline – the Beineu – Bozoy section – is historic in its importance, because it connected all the main gas pipelines of the country into a single gas transportation system. This made it possible to diversify gas transportation across Kazakhstan in any direction and to eliminate dependence on imported gas. Thus, KazTransGas will continue to implement the tasks set by the Head of state to increase the transit potential and transportation of energy resources, – said the Chairman of the Board of “KazTransGas” JSC Kairat Sharipbayev.

The completion of this project was planned in April 2016, but the gas pipeline was put into operation 5 months earlier – by the beginning of the heating season. In addition, thanks to the effective management and innovative management of “KazTransGas” JSC during the construction of this site saved about 150 billion tenge ($500 million) from the originally planned amount. Such lean approaches in the conditions of unstable situation in the world economy and limited sources of financing will allow to continue the development of infrastructure projects.

Также благодаря магистральному газопроводу дополнительно будет газифицированно 577 населенных пунктов в южных областях, где проживает половина населения республики.

REFERENCE: the beginning of the project was initiated in December 2010 when, on equal basis, the Kazakh and Chinese companies “KazTransGas” and “Trans-Asia Gas Pipeline Company Limited”, established “Beineu-Shymkent Gas Pipeline” LLP. The commissioning of the gas pipeline allows to connect all main gas pipelines of the Republic of Kazakhstan into a single gas transportation system: “Soyuz”, “Central Asia – Center”, “Bukhara – Ural”, “Bukhara gas area – Tashkent – Bishkek – Almaty”, “Gazli – Shymkent”, “Kazakhstan – China”.
