National operator KazTransGas JSC put into operation the line “C” of the main gas pipeline “Kazakhstan-China”. This event was the final stage in the implementation of the largest international project in the field of energy and regional partnership.
“Commissioning of line “C” and operation of all 3 lines of the main gas pipeline “Kazakhstan-China” is the largest international gas transportation project in the history of independent Kazakhstan. Having not only economic and geopolitical importance, this project meets the integration policy of the Head of state, connecting Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and China in the “rainbow of friendship”. To create new effective routes of energy supplies and diversify their directions, – instructed the President of the country Nursultan Nazarbayev. “We can say that KazTransGas has coped with this task. The design capacity of all three lines “A”, “B” and “C” of the Kazakhstan-China main gas pipeline will be 55 billion m3. Gas from Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan passes through this pipeline to China. Thus, we were able to discover new export routes, using all its transit potential. This strategy allows us to ensure infrastructure development and create new jobs even in the turbulent world economy. For example, more than 4 thousand specialists were involved in the construction of the “C” line alone,” Chairman of the Board of KazTransGas JSC Kairat Sharipbayev said. According to him, more than $1.2 billion has already been paid to the state budget in the period 2008-2015 alone.
The opening of an important breakthrough project of the country’s gas transportation sector is timed to the celebration of the Day of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The event was attended by the First Deputy Governor of Almaty region Makhabbat Bigeldiyev, Vice-Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan Magzum Myrzagaliev, Chairman of the Board of JSC “Samruk-Energo” Kairat Sharipbayev, the Vice-President “PetroChina” Lyuy Gunsyun.

The Kazakhstan-China main gas pipeline is an integral part of the Turkmenistan-Uzbekistan-Kazakhstan-China cross-border gas pipeline, with a total length of more than 7.5 thousand km.
The length of line “C” main gas pipeline “Kazakhstan-China” is 1303 km. To date, the facility has successfully passed all technical tests.
