The safest company status with zero accident rate was awarded to Intergas Central Asia JSC.
The 3rd forum of General Directors “Outstanding Leadership in Occupational Health and Safety” was held in Astana, where General Director of Intergas Central Asia JSC (a subsidiary of KazTransGas JSC, further – ICA) Valentin Khvan received a Diploma for the best indicators in occupational safety under results of activities in 2016.
ICA’s general concept is the priority of the employee’s life and health in relation to results of production activities, prevention of accidents, harmful effects of production factors on employee’s life and health.
The forum was organized by occupational safety and environmental protection department of JSC NC KazMunaiGas in order to assess the current state of occupational health & safety and to discuss plans for improvement of safety culture.
Leaders of JSC NC KazMunayGas – Chairman of the Board of Directors Frank Kuijlaars, Chairman of the Board Sauat Mynbayev, members of the Board of Directors, general directors of subsidiaries and affiliates participated in the forum.
Chairman of the Board of Directors of JSC NC KazMunayGas Frank Kuylaars addressed to the participants with a speech of welcome. He noted that due to preparation of the company for entering the IPO, at the moment Western investors evaluate the shares of any company not only in terms of financial indicators, but also in terms of FAR (fatal accident rates) and LTIR (lost time injury rates).
The winners were selected in accordance with assessment of health and safety indicators (FAR, LTIR, MVCR), number of employees, ratio of occupational health and safety employees to the total employees number of the company. The works such as implementation of corporate standards and initiatives, risk management in occupational health & safety and use of best practices were also considered.
