Karaozek compressor station launch day.
Dear colleagues!
Karaozek compressor station launch day.
A high-technology gas compressor station Karaozek was put into operation in Kyzylorda oblast. Akim of Kyzylorda oblast Krymbek Kusherbayev and management of KazTransGas JSC took part in the ceremony.
New Karaozek station is built at 944 km of the main gas pipeline Beineu-Bozoy-Shymkent and designed for parallel work with Bozoy station commissioned in Aktobe oblast in April this year. The capacity of the stations makes possible to increase the throughput of the main gas pipeline Beineu-Bozoy-Shymkentto10 bcm of gas. Moreover, the construction of the Karaozek CS was planned with the expectation of the forthcoming gasification of the capital of Kazakhstan – Astana and the northern regions.

Without Karaozek and Bozoy compressor stations, it is impossible to export Kazakh gas to China and ensure energy security in the south of the country. Just a few days ago, China signed a memorandum on the export as high as 5 bcm of domestic gas per annum. In addition, KazTransGas completed construction of Karaozek six months ahead of schedule and saved billions of tenge due to refurbishment of gas compressor units from the internal reserve of KazTransGas JSC.
The new station is equipped with gas compressor units and auxiliary equipment of the latest generation, developed on the basis of high technologies and designed for operation with sophisticated modes. As a part of the project, gas pipelines, gas metering station and other infrastructure facilities have also been constructed.
The main elements of the station include 3 gas turbine units developed on the basis of high technologies by the American company Solar Turbines and designed for the most complicated operating modes. In operation of all three units, the throughput of the compressor station will reach 43.5 million cubic meters of gas per day.
