Dastan Zhexenbay was born on March 6, 1986, in Almaty region.
He graduated from the Kazakh-British Technical University with a degree in engineering and economics.
He holds the Master of Science degree in Energy Management (University of Stirling, UK).
He holds the MBA degree in Oil and Gas Business Management (National Research University of Oil and Gas named after I.M. Gubkin)
In 2025, he completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Supply Chain Management and Global Logistics (University of London).
He boasts over 18 years of experience in the oil, gas, and energy industries.
He has the extensive management experience in coordinating the production activities, organizing and implementing financial, economic, and procurement processes, as well as the logistics and supply chains.
While holding these positions, he organized the reliable and efficient operation of production and infrastructure facilities, established the interdepartmental collaboration and ensured the stable, uninterrupted operation of key processes, including those with external providers of the works and services.
He was holding the managerial positions in Intergas Central Asia JSC, Asia Gas Pipeline LLP, QazaqGaz Aimak JSC, KMG International / The Rompetrol Group, and PetroKazakhstan JSC.
Since February 2026 until now he is working as the First Deputy General Director of Beineu-Shymkent Gas Pipeline LLP.
