Gas Turbine Unit which is unique in CIS has been commissioned at Bozoy Compressor Station.

Today, compressor station Bozoy on Beineu-Bozoy-Shymkent Main Gas Pipeline has been launched on-line from the Unified Dispatch Center of KazTransGas JSC.

Sauat Mynbayev – Chairman of KazMunayGas NC JSC Management Board, Kairat Sharipbayev – Vice-President of KazMunayGas NC JSC, delegation from China headed by Zhang Jianhua – CNPC Corporation General Director, and the leaders of Kazakhstan National gas operator subdivisions participated in the festive ceremony.

Sauat Mynbayev – Chairman of KazMunayGas NC JSC Management Board spoke at the ceremony of commissioning and thanked Chinese colleagues for the joint cooperation, pointing out that this project had implemented one more important task set to the gas industry by the President Nursultan Nazarbayev.

“Today we became witnesses of the important event for the entire gas industry of the country – said Sauat Mynbayev – Beineu-Bozoy-Shymkent Main Gas Pipeline and all its facilities have a strategic importance not only for the Republic of Kazakhstan, but also for our neighbor – People’s Republic of China. At that, the commissioning of Bozoy compressor station will allow achieving several specified goals at once. It is the expansion of gas transportation up to 6 bln cubic meters per year, increase of Beineu-Bozoy-Shymkent Main Gas Pipeline efficiency, and assurance of continuous gas supply to the Southern regions of the country, where the gas demand amounts to 4.5 bln cubic meters per year as of today. Further, when the transportation capacity increases up to 10 bln cubic meters, the export capabilities will increase accordingly”.

Zhang Jianhua – CNPC Corporation General Director pointed out the important significance of China and Kazakhstan cooperation. “It is a social project which is given attention by Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev, – stressed Zhang Jianhua. – Commissioning of Bozoy compressor station is another great step in the joint cooperation of KazTransGas and CNPC companies.

Bozoy station will give the possibility to use gas for more number of Kazakhstan people and increase export to China. Here, the “One Belt, One Road” initiative proposed by China on connectivity of projects for establishment of the “Silk Road Economic Belt” matches up with “Nurly zhol” infrastructure development program initiated by the President of Kazakhstan”.

Bozoy compressor station gives the possibility to diversify and increase export possibilities of the country, unifying main gas pipelines into the integrated gas transportation system.

By means of it, continuous gas supply will be provided to the South of Kazakhstan, and in future there will be a possibility to gasify Astana, as well as Central and Northern regions of the country.
