Gas filling of Beineu-Bozoy-Shymkent main gas pipeline has commenced.
With the participation of President Nursultan Nazarbayev and Chairman of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping, the ceremony of filling Beineu-Bozoy-Shymkent gas pipeline with gas was held in the teleconference bridge format.
Serik Sultangaliyev, Director of KazTransGas JSC, compared the gas pipeline with the Silk Way. Now all the main gas pipelines of the Republic of Kazakhstan will be merged into a single gas transmission system, and South Kazakhstanis will finally have uninterrupted gas supplies.
For the entire Kazakhstan, Beineu-Shymkent gas pipeline is not only a significant, but also a strategically important infrastructure project. And it is not accidential that it has been included in the “Industrialization Map of 2010-2014”. In December 2010, KazTransGas on our part and Trans-Asia Gas Pipeline Company Limited on the part of Chinese colleagues, based on equal share, launched its implementation. A statutory fund of one billion US dollars (by 500 million from each of the partners) was established and three billion US dollars of borrowed capital have been attracted.
Gas filling of the Bozoy-Shymkent section is one of the technological projects, after which Bozoy and Akbulak gas metering stations will be commissioned. The main gas pipeline of 1477 km length runs through Mangystau, Aktobe, Kyzylorda and South Kazakhstan regions. It is assumed to commission the entire gas transmission line in several stages. Thus, the completion of the linear part of Bozoy-Shymkent section will allow to transport gas in the amount of 2,5-3 bcma, and after the launch of Bozoy main compressor station, the capacity of gas pipeline will be increased up to six billion cubic meters.
At the first stage, gas will serve for domestic consumption in 500 settlements.
– “Today, we have become participants in a truly historic event”, said President Nazarbayev. – The construction of the Beineu-Bozoy-Shymkent gas pipeline will allow to solve a whole range of governmental tasks: from supplies of Kazakh gas to the South regions of Kazakhstan up to possibility to export domestic gas to PRC market.
