The capacity of the gas pipeline “Beineu-Bozoy-Shymkent” will increase to 10 billion cubic meters per year. The Minister of oil and gas of Kazakhstan Uzakbay Karabalin said this at the government hour in the Majilis of the Parliament, the correspondent of BNews.kz reports.  

“In the reporting year, the first stage of the large-scale project “Beineu-Bozoy-Shymkent” on the site “Bozoy-Shymkent”was completed. At this stage, the design capacity of up to 2.5 billion cubic meters per year has been achieved,” the Minister of oil and gas of Kazakhstan said.

In the future, he said, it is planned to gradually increase the capacity of the gas pipeline to 10 billion cubic meters per year.

“The implementation of this project will provide gas to the southern import – dependent regions of Kazakhstan and gasify more than 500 settlements of the Republic,” he said.
