Kyrgyzstan redeemed a debt to Kazakhstan for gas consumed since 2004.

Gasprom Kyrgyzstan LLC redeemed a debt to the national operator KazTransGas JSC for total amount of 41.3 mln USD accumulated for delivery and unauthorized gas bleed within 2004-2014.
KazTransGas JSC within ten years faced the problem of late payment for delivered volumes of gas from the Kyrgyz side. Dunning letters were forwarded to Kyrgyzgas JSC. They considered the issue of the repayment of a debt many times, also on intergovernmental level. At the beginning of 2008, KazTransGas JSC referred to the court with the action to Kyrgyzgas JSC on repayment of a debt. However, the debt amount has not been repaid since Astana Specialized Regional Economic Court passed the decision on May 13 2008.
In February 2014, Russian gas operator PJSC “Gazprom” after retiring 100% of Kyrgyzgas JSC shares became the owner of Kyrgyzstan gas operator’s shares. Owing to efforts of the national operator KazTransGas JSC, they managed to agree on repayment of a debt in the course of many meetings and negotiations with representatives of “Gazprom Kyrgyzstan”.
Today Gasprom Kyrgyzstan LLC totally fulfilled the contract terms by repaying the outstanding amount of 41.6 mln USD.
