The Head of the state held the audience with the Chairman of the Management Board of KazTransGas JSC
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the President of Kazakhstan, held the audience in Akorda with Kairat Sharipbayev, the Chairman of the Management Board of KazTransGas JSC.
The Head of the state was familiarized with production and financial indicators for KazTransGas JSC companies group for eight months of 2021.
According to Kairat Sharipbayev the main gas pipeline transportation has increased by 14% and amounted to 65,4 bln. m³ in comparison with the last year.
For this period gas sales amounted to 14,4 bln. m3, at that the gas export decreased by 20% due to the increase in its consumption in the domestic market and amounted to 4,3 bln. m3. Supplies to the domestic market increased by 14% and amounted to 10,1 bln. m³.
In terms of financial indicators, the revenue of the National Operator for the reporting period increased by 6% and amounted to 1,342 trillion KZT, while net profit increased by 55% and amounted to 304 bln. KZT. As a socially responsible company, KazTransGas JSC subsidizes domestic consumers by supplying gas to the domestic market below the cost. The amount of subsidies for the domestic market in 2021 will amount to 158,8 bln. KZT.
As of August 31 of this year, taxes and other payments to the budget amounted to 128,4 bln. KZT. All the company’s net profit is used to maintain the gas transportation system and reduce the debt load. So, KazTransGas JSC companies group including joint ventures repaid debts to the amount of 995 mln. US dollars for eight months. In general, for the period 2014 – 2021, the debt load on the National Operator companies group was reduced by 9,2 bln. US dollars.
During the meeting the special attention was paid to projects of gas transportation infrastructure modernization and development. The top-priority projects are the construction of a gas pipeline (looping) to the existing Makat-North Caucasus gas pipeline, the construction of the second line of Beineu-Zhanaozen Gas Pipeline and the reconstruction of the gas transportation system of the Mangystau oblast, gasification of the Sarsha area and the Teplyi resort zone beach in Aktau, Mangystau oblast.
The design and estimate documentation have already been developed for all these projects, at that, own monetary funds of KazTransGas JSC, which will be raised as a result of the planned IPO, will partially require for their implementation.
The Head of the state was also presented with prospective projects in the gas industry, one of which is the construction of the second line of Beineu-Bozoy-Shymkent Main Gas Pipeline, which is currently operating at the limit of its throughput capacity.
In addition, during the meeting, projects of increasing the resource base were considered, such as the construction of gas processing plants at Kashagan and the increase in its own gas production due to the commissioning of new fields.
In addition, the Chairman of the Management Board of KazTransGas JSC reported on the companies group digitalization projects. For example, work on development of a digital map of the gas transportation system facilities is being continued. At the present moment, 2 million subscribers, 19 thous. km of gas pipelines, 22 compressor stations have already been digitized. By 2023, it is planned to digitize another 47 thous. km of distribution networks. This will allow to control costs for maintenance and repairs through data analysis.
The President expressed support for the proposed projects and measures for further gasification of the country.
At the end of the meeting, the Head of the State set a number of tasks for Kairat Sharipbayev aimed at the development of the gas industry in Kazakhstan.
